Our Work

Rule of Law: PT members Ellen Judd, Rita Lasar and Colleen Kelly visited lower Manhattan where Sulaiman Abu Ghaith was being tried on terrorism charges in a federal criminal court. Ghaith was found guilty on all three counts: conspiracy to kill Americans; providing material support to terrorists, and conspiring to do so.

Reacting to another day in the courtroom, PT member, Donna M. O'Connor, wrote:

"No major logistical problems in NYC. No hysteria. Just a trial. KSM and his accused co-conspirators ought to have been tried in the same manner. It's not only about their rights, but about the strength of US policies and principles. It's about the rule of law and the US Constitution. It is about my rights as a family member of a murder victim who had a right to see my government bring charges in open, legitimate, federal courts, to hear the evidence and to know that my country, unlike my daughter, is still alive in the world. To separate once again, idea from ideology, to begin a new process of atonement for America's past. Yes, I am one of the naive dreamers who believes that burying evil or cloaking it makes it more robust. And trying to be a better people means we already are. Thank you, Ellen Judd, for being there as a witness.

Just another day in America."

Afghanistan: Andrea LeBlanc, Ellen Judd and the Afghanistan Committee have been working to support initiatives to expand the role and visibility of young women members of the Afghan Peace Volunteers. A first step has been a recent trip to India to visit key sites for the training and practice of nonviolence (see their photo journey by CLICKING HERE).

Ellen Judd attended two days of the evidence and a day of concluding arguments in the trial of Sulaiman Abu Ghaith in New York City, mindful of all who are at risk in a "Storm of Airplanes" or other attacks, and attentive to the legal processes affecting all parties involved and the global public.

From Our Donors: An anonymous donor donated $5,000.00 while another one sent us a check with this message:

"Keep up the good work and NEVER give up."
