Nonviolent Peaceforce staff

Five Ways Your Support Makes a Difference

When you give to Nonviolent Peaceforce,
  1. You Walk Alongside Communities in Crisis. Nonviolent Peaceforce always works with communities to build on local wisdom and experience. At least 50% of the staff come from the countries we work in. We support and empower local leaders so they can maintain peace after NP leaves.
  2. You Empower Women to Ensure Lasting Peace. When women are at the table, peace agreements are 35% more likely to last longer. In South Sudan, NP’s Women Peacekeeping Teams help resolve community disputes, a role usually reserved for male tribal council leaders.
  3. You Affirm the Dignity of People Living in War. Where dehumanization breeds violence, Nonviolent Peaceforce stands for the human rights of every person.
  4. You Bring Relief to Children Facing Trauma. Nonviolent Peaceforce fosters learning through play in child-friendly spaces. When children have a chance to play, they are more resilient in the face of trauma. Children using these spaces are also less likely to be abducted as child soldiers, raped or forcibly displaced.
  5. You support all sides to resolve deadly conflict. Nonviolent Peaceforce builds trust and relationships with all sides to resolve conflict and protect people. We engage military leaders, armed groups, governments and civil society organizations to keep people out of danger.
